Your best friend deserves a little pampering & what could be better than treating him to one of the fabulous luxury dog beds that are available either online or from your local pet superstore.
Luxury dog beds are pretty popular these days, what with all of the people trying to imitate the celebrities that carry around their dogs in their purses or hand bags. The little dogs especially will look better when your friends come over if they are sleeping or resting on a soft round satin dog bed that matches their collar or the bow in their hair.
Sometimes the luxury is only in the fabric or level of comfort. Many dogs do not care to sleep on the floor and will instead choose places to sleep that remind them of you. They will try and sleep on anything comfortable and soft and not always the most convenient place. They will sleep on piles of clean clothes, piles of dirty clothes, on your pillow, the couch, sofa, love seat, and in your recliner. They’ll even sprawl out on your bed, flopping across your pillows to sleep half of their life away. If you want to alleviate this habit of them sleeping where they’re not supposed to, the best way is to get them a bed of their own. If you choose a luxury bed, you are giving them that much more reason to not sleep on your bed.
Some cotton made luxury dog beds are made so they are machine washable. Obviously the larger beds will have problems getting into the machine but perhaps you could purchase a few small ones that may, when put together, contain enough surface area for your dog to sleep. This way you can wash them one or two at a time and have them come out clean, rather than having the larger version being unable to put into the washing machine.
Some luxury dog beds even look like miniature human beds, complete with headboard, footboard, and table legs. Some might mistake a larger one for a toddler bed and in fact, if a toddler bed is up for sale that is cheaper than the largest dog bed you could find for your massive pooch, it might be a good idea to go ahead and buy the toddler bed for your dog. You could also then swap your old pillows out for the dog’s new ones, ensuring they keep to their own bed since they can smell you on the pillow. That will add to their level of comfort when it comes time to train them to sleep in their own bed.
Training them to sleep in their bed can be difficult at times but again, if the new bed is comfortable, it should not be too much of an issue. You might even consider tossing one of your own t-shirts into the bed with them so they will smell something familiar. The comfort level of their new bed will aid in letting them sleep where they are supposed to but only if you can manage to lure them into the bed in the first place. It’s possible that if you get a large enough bed you may have to join your dog in that bed for a night or two before they get used to sleeping there by themselves.
If you want a real luxury pet bed to spoil your four legged friend you could go for a designer dog bed from a well known brand name like the scruffs faux leather box bed. Bagel dog beds are warm & snug & come in a range of sizes to suit small, medium & large animals. This luxury pet furniture ranges from the simple, like crypton doodle dog beds – to the functional like a heated dog bed or orthopedic pet beds – to the downright outrageous such as car shaped luxury style dog beds.
And if you really want to go to town there’s even a book you can buy called dog palaces so that you can build your own luxury dog house or handmade dog bed!
